The film stars Vin Diesel as Dominic Toretto, Paul Walker as Brian O’Connor, and the cast includes Dwayne Johnson, Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Ty Rhys Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Sung Kang, Luke Evans, Gina Carano, and John Ortiz.

In the film, Toretto, O’Connor and their team are offered a pardon in exchange for assisting DSS agent Luke Hobbs (Johnson) in the arrest of former British SAS Major Owen Shaw (Evans). A group of mercenaries led by Toretto’s former lover Letty Ortiz (played by Rodriguez).

Plans for the sixth film began in February 2010, even before production on Fast and Furious 5 began. It was confirmed in April 2011 that Chris Morgan had begun writing the script, with Vin Diesel, Justin Lin and producer Neil H. Neal H. Moritz announced his return in June. Discussions of filming a sixth and potentially seventh film surfaced, but were ultimately abandoned after principal photography began in July 2012.

The filming process lasted until December of that year and took place across Los Angeles, London, Glasgow and the Canary Islands. Similar to its predecessor, Fast & Furious 6 relied heavily on practical stunts, requiring vehicles to be built specifically for the film. Brian Taylor, who composed the music for the first three films, was unable to return due to scheduling conflicts, and Lucas Vidal took over as composer.

Fast & Furious 6 premiered at the Empire Leicester Square on May 7, 2013, and was subsequently released in the UK on May 17 and in the US on May 24, distributed by Universal Pictures.

The film received generally positive reviews from critics, particularly praising Justin Lin’s direction, the actors’ performances, and the exciting action sequences. The film grossed $788.7 million worldwide, making it the sixth-highest-grossing film of 2013 and the fourth-highest-grossing film released by Universal Pictures at the time.

It also became the highest-grossing film in the Fast and Furious franchise until it was surpassed by its successor, Furious 7, released in 2015. It’s worth noting that Fast and Furious 6 was the last film in the series to be released during Paul’s tenure. Walker passed away in a bicycle accident on November 30, 2013.
