Imperial soldiers capture Ulfric Stormcloak and the player, but a dragon named Alduin saves them. The player warns Lord Balgruuf of Whiterun about the threat of dragons, and after absorbing the dragon’s soul, discovers that they are “dragonborn”. Greybeard trains the Dragonborn, who learns that a cry called “Dragon Split” can weaken Alduin. Traveling through time, the Dragonborn retrieved the Elder Scrolls and confronted Alduin. After a hard-fought battle, Alduin escaped.
The allies planned to capture a dragon in Whiterun, and the dragonborn negotiated a truce in the civil war. After capturing the dragon Aldavien, they learned that Alduin was in Sognard. Odaviying agreed to let the dragonborn fly there in exchange for his freedom. In Songard, with the help of heroes from the past, the Dragonborn defeated Alduin and returned to Skyrim, saving the land.
