Hollow Knight is a metroidvania video game created in 2017 by independent developer Team Cherry. Players take on the role of the insect warrior knight and explore Hallownest, a fallen kingdom plagued by supernatural diseases (infections).

The game’s various underground locations are populated by friendly and hostile insect characters, as well as challenging bosses. As players progress through each area, they unlock new abilities and discover lore and flavor text scattered throughout the kingdom.

Return to the Ancient Basin to find the White Snake and obtain the Awakening Dream Nail. Use the Dream Nail on the Teacher Archives to learn Abyssal Scream, a powerful spell.

17. The Pale King and the Glory

Hollow Knight gameplay
