Formed in 1991 in Charlottesville, Virginia, the Dave Matthews Band (DMB) is a well-known American rock band whose unique musical style has captivated audiences for decades.

Founding members include singer-songwriter and guitarist Dave Matthews, bassist Stefan Lessard, drummer and backing vocalist Carter Beauford, violin home and backing vocalist Boyd Tinsley and saxophonist LeRoi Moore, both of whom played an important role in shaping the band’s sound. While Moore’s tragic death left a void, Matthews, Lessard and Beauford remain the only original members as of 2023.

The band officially entered the music scene in 1994 with their major label debut album, Under the Table and Dreaming. The album went platinum six times, cementing DMB’s place in the industry. As of 2018, DMB has sold over 25 million concert tickets and over 39 million CDs and DVDs, proving its immense popularity.

Their 2018 album Come Tomorrow made a historic debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart, marking the band’s seventh consecutive studio album to achieve this feat, a significant achievement. Notably, they won the 1996 Grammy Award for “Best Rock Duo or Group with Vocal Performance” for “So Much to Say”
