The recent Bad Boys movies and Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F show how to revitalize old ideas while still maintaining the things that make them popular. Axel F mixes old characters with new faces, paying tribute to the franchise’s roots while showing the path for a way forward. It’s still a little too soon to see how successful Axel F will be, but there are plenty of positive signs which suggest Eddie Murphy could have another hit on his hands.
